LaFleur
This art is made completely of civil rights Photos and lines from my published award winning poetry.
Made entirely out of soda cans and spray paint. This piece is a representation of the “Underground Railroad” and sn effort, like the patchwork quilt that slaves used to connect asking their way to freedom.
Indicating the strength and determination of the black race and comparing the amount of progress that we’ve seen to a 1 year old that has taken its first steps.
Generally, it’s our links to our past that create the only chain that is strong enough to pull us from our past into our future.
We stand on shoulders of those…
This piece has over 6000 pics of different sizes. There are pics that are smaller than half the size of a dime.
This piece also features lines from my original poetry.
My poetry lines the face holding these confused empty eyes. This speaks clearly to the responsibility that we have not to dwell inside of our issues…But we ought to encourage ourselves so that we can be an encouragement to others.Spoken Word is a gift meant to bless others. It’s not a toy.
the Rose im sharing…
(Made from old newspaper and clay)
JESUS is known as “the Rose of Sharon” so this Christian piece points to the Sun/SON BEING OUR LIGHT and the rose at the same time.
There was a fire that laid on them in a tongue…
A tongue that had no recognizable mouth but their own…
But my own..,
Giving spiritual power to them to speak in words unheard…
Using the unused, abused and unheard to speak to those with hard hearts who STILL won’t hear…
Light us UP LORD!
YOU are my fire…
